The most common questions we get:
Will the fat transferred survive?
Answer: Only a portion of the fat will survive, ranging from 15% and up to 40%. There is never a guarantee because many factors are important. Items that may factor into the results are: General health of patient, medications taken, smoking, size of existing gluteus maximus.
Is there a risk for fat embolism?
We never say never. But what we do know is that it never has happened here at our center. The biggest reason for our safety record is because we use blunt canulas (rounded tips). These probes would push blood vessels out of the way upon contact, thus avoiding the issue.
Can I achieve a buttock like the well known celebrities?
The answer is a categorical "absolutely not." All those individuals start out with the same procedure that we use, i.e Liposuction with body contouring. We can subsequently add other procedures such as injections of Sculptra Aesthetic or PDO threads for further enhancement. Please inquire about these additional procedures with consultant.
Will I need a special pillow and will I be able to sit and sleep face up?
The answer is: You may use a special pillow and you may avoid sitting and sleep face down. However, we have not seen any major affect with sleep/sit positions or when such devices are used.
